There is some good news for disabled veterans who are trying to cope with the recent high inflation; the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2023 is largest increase in more than 30 years. Veterans and their families who receive VA compensation benefits will see an 8.7% increase in their monthly payments beginning January 1, 2023.

The annual COLA increase is based on the consumer price index (CPI). The CPI, provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, measures the average changes in cost for urban goods and services.

You can use the charts below to determine your expected monthly compensation payment and there is also a chart which will show you the dates when the VA will be making each monthly payment.
