When Veteran Disability Intake Specialist Jessica Parker sits down at her desk, she not only brings extensive experience in navigating the VA’s disability process to her work, but she also brings some very personal insights with her. For years she skillfully handled VA intake for another law firm and now, we are pleased to say, she applies that storehouse of knowledge every day on behalf of Cuddigan Law clients. But she also has another perspective unique to individuals who do her job. Her husband, an Air Force Veteran, has a disability.

A native of Paris, Tennessee (where there is “even a small replica of the Eiffel Tower”, she says with a smile), Jessica moved to Omaha when her husband was assigned to Offutt Air Force Base.

Ms. Parker is passionate about helping others. “My love language is acts of service”, she explains. “I love helping others. I am a part of our local Extension Office, and we help with the elderly, food drives, and school program donations. I also assist my 92-year-old neighbor on a day-to-day basis. But most of all I take great satisfaction in helping Veterans get the compensation they have earned. ”I handle all new prospective clients to see if we can help them with their disability claim.”

In her free time, Jessica devotes much of her time to band activities where her son Jack performs. She relaxes by gardening. “I built a greenhouse in my back yard made entirely out of old windows from a house that was being torn down”, she explains. “And my dog Banjo is my very best friend, so I take walks with him.”

When asked if there is a mantra—a guiding principle for her life—Jessica refers to a quote first attributed to Alexander Hamilton: “If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.”
