Social Security Case Manager, Shantel Nosal, skillfully juggles a lot of responsibilities on behalf of Cuddigan Law clients. “I manage Social Security Disability cases from start to finish and act as the main point of contact between our clients and the Social Security Administration,” she explains. “On the paperwork side, I take care of submitting medical updates, helping clients with forms, and auditing case files. The other half of my job is keeping clients informed about their case and answering their day-to-day questions.”

Her previous work experience dovetails nicely with her current position. “Before I came to work at Cuddigan Law, I worked in the Medical Records Department at Bryan Medical Center. My main focus was handling a high volume of records requests for things like disability, continuity of care, insurance, and legal cases. It was a role where I had to work closely with HIPAA laws every day, making sure every single disclosure was fully compliant and accurate.”

“I enjoy being the person who takes the weight off the shoulders of clients during one of the most stressful times in their lives,” Shantel reflects. “By the time clients reach us, they are usually dealing with severe health issues, out of work, and completely overwhelmed by the Social Security’s process. Being able to step in, handle paperwork, and clearly explain what to expect gives them immediate peace of mind. It is incredibly rewarding to guide them through a confusing process and to know that my work directly helps them get the benefits and financial stability they deserve.”

A self-proclaimed “outdoorsy person” when the weather is nice, she enjoys camping, hiking, swimming, and walking. When she cannot be outdoors her favorite pastime activity is listening to music, especially live music. Shantel is also a “a huge animal lover and a passionate advocate for the 'adopt, don't shop' movement. “I recently adopted a cat from the Humane Society who needed some extra care and attention. Seeing him transform into the sweetest, goofiest companion has been incredibly rewarding.”

One of her passions is cooking. “I love the challenge of putting together a really complex, flavorful meal from scratch. But the best part for me is being able to share the food I make with the people I love,” she says with a smile.

When asked if she has a favorite quote that helps guide her life, Ms. Nosal recalls a saying from Confucius: ‘It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.’ “It's a great reminder,” she points out, “that patience and resilience truly pay off. Even when things get tough, if you just keep pushing, you will eventually reach your goals.”
