The VA assumes that certain diseases, cancers, and other health problems are likely caused by exposure to Agent Orange. These are considered “presumptive diseases,” meaning that if one of these conditions is diagnosed in a veteran who was exposed to Agent Orange, the veteran can qualify for disability benefits without the burden of proving the condition was caused by military service.

Conditions Qualifying for “Presumptive Disability” Due to Agent Orange Exposure

  • Diabetes
  • Various cancers, including Hodgkin’s Disease, chronic B-cell leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, prostate cancer, respiratory cancer, and more.
  • Ischemic Heart Disease
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Numerous other conditions
