Social Security uses a special process for veterans who  become disabled while on active duty. Veterans in the wounded warrior program are entitled to expedited processing.   Many veterans think that because they are found disabled under the standards applied by the VA that they will automatically qualify and are discouraged when they receive a denial notice.Social Security uses a different standard than the Veterans Administration when it evaluates disability claims.

At Cuddigan Law we are familiar with the Social Security rules regarding the receipt of military pay while your claim is pending and how that effects your disability claim. These claims receive expedited processing and the hearings are scheduled sometimes in less than 12 months after service member is discharged. This means the gathering of records and obtaining reports in preparation for hearing must be accomplished in a short period of time.

If you are disabled as a result of service to our country, and  your injuries will keep you from working for a year or longer, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability  benefits(SSDI).
