The Center for Disease Control ("CDC"), AIDS.gov, and other national and local entities organize this annual event. National HIV Testing Day encourages people to "Take the Test, Take Control". National HIV Testing Day was kicked off in 1995 by the National Association of People with AIDS to address the problem of the undiagnosed HIV/AIDS population. According to the CDC, 1.1 million Americans live with HIV and nearly 1 in 5 of these Americans do not know that they are HIV positive.The following is a list of local Omaha testing sites:
