Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be caused by exposure to traumatic events such as combat, natural disaster, violent assaults, or physical abuse or sexual abuse of some kind. PTSD can cause severe anxiety, and can lead to flashbacks, depression and inability to sleep. People with PTSD may go to great lengths to avoid anything that reminds them of the traumatic event. Many, but by no means all, sufferers of PTSD are veterans. If you suffer from PTSD, it can be impossible to hold down a job for any length of time.

If PTSD is keeping you from working, you may be eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). If you have an experienced disability lawyer on your side, it can give you the best possible chance to obtain these benefits. Since 1994, attorney Tim Cuddigan has practiced disability law exclusively on behalf of people throughout Omaha and the surrounding areas of Nebraska and western Iowa. He has helped thousands of people, including people with PTSD.

Our first step will be to gather all medical evidence in support of your PTSD. This usually involves coordinating with your doctors. Veterans Administration (VA) doctors regularly diagnose PTSD. Doctors who treat civilians may not see PTSD as much. We will then make a persuasive case to the Social Security Administration (SSA). If the SSA denies your claim, do not be discouraged. Our law firm has had successful results in the appeals process for many. If we accept your case, you can be certain we will explore every avenue to help you recover the benefits you need.

If PTSD prevents you from working, call us for a free evaluation. We serve Southwest Iowa and all of Nebraska. We have offices in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska. Call (402) 933-5405 or e-mail our firm [email protected]
