UNMC Researcher Studies Ibuprofen as Treatment for Lung Disease

Omaha Social Security Lawyer, Tim Cuddigan reports that UNMC researcher are studying the role of Ibuprofen in the treatment of emphysema. Ibuprofen is a common anti-inflammatory drug used to reduce swelling and treat pain. Animal research has shown that this drug reduces inflammation in the lungs.Researchers hope that it will show a reduction in the inflammation of the lungs of humans.The researchers caution however that individuals should not experiment on their own because the dosage necessary to be safe and effective is not known.They also caution that the use of ibuprofen has a risk of stomach bleeding.
