Social Security Disability — Supplemental Security Income
Attorneys commonly practice across a spectrum of practice areas, attending criminal court one day and family court the next, or advocating real estate law rights simultaneously with juveniles' rights.
At the law firm of Timothy J. Cuddigan, we have practiced disability law exclusively since 1994 and bring the experience of thousands of Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income and veterans' benefits cases to each case we handle. Contact us if you have questions regarding:
- Social Security Disability (SSDI) benefits initial applications. We can handle your initial application and work for rapid approval of your benefits claim.
- Social Security Disability Benefits denied. The Social Security Administration allows non-attorneys to assist in the advocacy of claims. However, only attorneys can appeal your denied claim to the highest courts.
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI exists to provide benefits to low income and asset individuals who have not "paid in" to the Social Security system. Lack of work history does not disqualify you from benefits upon proof of disabling injury or illness.
Disabled Widow and Widower Claims. Disability is defined for disabled widow and widower claims as for all other adult claims. However, to get benefits the widow or widower must be at least 50 years old and must have become disabled no later than seven years after whichever of the following last occurs: 1) The death of the wage earner upon whose account the claim is based; 2) The last payment of mother's or father's benefits to the claimant on the wage earner's account; or 3) The last prior payment of disabled widow or widower benefits to the claimant on the wage earner's account.
Disabled Adult Child Cases. Disabled adult child claimants draw benefits on the Social Security amount of their parent. The parent must be deceased or drawing Social Security disability or retirement benefits. If deceased, the parent must have worked enough to have been fully or currently insured as the date of death. Claimants for disabled adult child benefits do not have to meet a special definition of disability. The claimant must have become disabled before his or her twenty second birthday in order to qualify.
Veterans' disability compensation and pension benefits. Disabled veterans deserve the assistance provided by Congress. Unfortunately the veteran's claim process is complicated, the regulations and case law are complex. We have successfully obtained compensation and pension benefit payments for injured and disabled veterans. A new law allows veterans to hire professional representation once a notice of disagreement has been filed at the VA regional office. We also provide clients with representation and information regarding the veterans' disability appeals process.
One-on-one meetings with attorney Tim Cuddigan ensure that we will have the personal and detailed information regarding your health, symptoms and employment limitations needed to effectively fight for your disability payment rights. Our experienced office staff is available for getting any updates on your medical condition, helping you complete forms and making sure you are informed of any new developments in the claims process. Our office is located in Omaha and we meet with clients through out the claim process and well before the day of the hearing. We believe that your claim is important and we are available to meet with you.
